WTF?

Here's a page for regular Dragon Age: Origins:

And here's a page for Digital Deluxe Edition:

Will it be fail for Steam and Win for DDE buyers? Or will it be a cruel joke? I'll know it in an hour... (I so hope, that it'll be unlocked now ~_~)

Update: it now says that the game is available on store pages (both versions), but the game itself is still locked :(

Update 2: what a clusterfuck :( half an hour later nothing changed, so I guess we were shafted once again :(

Update 3: aaaand, after 12 hours of complete mess on every level, we've got tis:

Apparently, we (Steam users from many countries) will get it even later then the rest of the world :D Thank you, EA!

Holy cow! The Regular Edition isn't unlocked for 2 days? That bites the big dick!
@Fallout2Forever actually, it was the same for Borderlands, when there was only 1 hour left and then on restart, Steam said fuck off, it will be unlocked in 2 days :(
Very sad. I wonder if D2D pulled this crap.
So you have to wait a couple days? That's it? Not a big deal to me.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories got pushed back 2 months.
@EarthboundX But it is a big deal for me. I have at most 1 day per week to spent for such things like games. But today is actually a holiday, which I planned to use to play this game! And now I'll be playing it who knows when!

Even if all things will play nice, it probably will be only Sunday :(
@EarthboundX It is more frustrating seeing it as being released on the front store page and unreleased in your game list.
I just saw the store page, it says it's out.
@EarthboundX Actually, I can see people wanting to be able to play it the very second it's released, and get it on steam or D2D to do so, and thanks to Steams ineptness, they get skrewed out of that deal.
@EarthboundX So it says for me too. But the thing is that it won't unlock files for me until some date later (Nov 6th, I presume).
Like I said, the game I was looking forward to was pushed back 2 months.

I'm tempted to say Boo Ho, you only have to wait a couple days.
There's an uproar on the Steam forums, but there's no answer from official representative of either Valve, EA or BioWare yet. This is more fun, because not a single information on release dates mention Russia :)

And BTW, it will be available today for a few lucky people that will go to a launch event and for everyone else on 5th.

If Steam will hold it until 6th, there would be a really negative response from our gamers :D
@13xforever I'm now wondering if I might not get it till the 9th or 10th.
@13xforever A launch event?
@Fallout2Forever Yes, there'll be a special event - a game marathon - organized by local EA office in the only 1 store in country. Also, anyone that will made it there will be able to buy the game 1 day before release.
@13xforever So you're saying that those that reserved the game at gamestop can't even play the game today?
@Fallout2Forever Don't know about GameStop, but Steam is a mess today. I submitted a support ticket, but I don't believe that I'll get any reasonable answer, except "to wait until it will be unlocked" :(
I don't know about you guys, but I got it on Steam, and its unlocked, installed, and working, with all DLC enabled for the CE.

Dragon Age: Origins on Steam will launch on the following dates:

Canada and the United States: November 3

Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South America (Brazil), Singapore,
South Africa, Taiwan, and Thailand : November 5

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK: November 6

German Steam will NOT be carrying the Digital Deluxe Edition. All other countries will offer both the standard and Digital Deluxe Edition. Standard and Digital Collector's Ediotion will both be available on the same dates.

Pre-Loading
Will DA:O be available for Pre-loading? If so, when?

Pre-loading should be available on November 1st. You're welcome.

Patching
Will Steam support patching?

All patches for the Steam distribution of Dragon Age: Origins will be delivered automatically via Steam. You will not need to download and install a separate patch file.

DLC
Will Steam support DLC for DAO?

Steam will not sell DLC. However, the Steam version of the game will be able to support DLC bought at the EA store or from in-game.

Add-Ons
What Add-Ons are available?

Same as anywhere else, except retailer exclusive pre-order items. Steam does have its own – The Wicked Oath.

Are these add-ons available for all regions?

Yes, with exception that the UK version will not include the 3 DDE items.

Languages
How do languages work when ordering through Steam?

Language support is handled by defaulting whatever language the user has Steam running in. For example, if you run Steam in French and Dragon Age is offered in French, you will download the game in French. If Valve does not have the game in French, then the default is English. All languages are available, you get your local + English and can request/download other ones by changing your Steam game language selection.

On-line
Do I have to be online to play DAO with a Steam version?

You can play off-line with the game, as with all titles offered through Steam. You’re game is re-synched once you return online.

Price Change
Steam initially offered Dragon Age: Origins below the required price for the game. This price has been corrected to the correct cost. Customers who purchased the game while it was at the lower price WILL NOT have to pay the difference.
Well, that's the official story, but the pictures say otherwise.
@Avs I've read those lines many times. But nothing speaks about EA's care more than their silent correction. We'll get it on 7th. Later than anyone else. 2 or 3 days after retail release here.
As a bounes, EA sent me an e-mail with with big capital letters AVAILABLE NOW!

Jokers. :(
@13xforever Sad really.
@Fallout2Forever I only hope that all that negative feedback will do some good for Valve and BioWare. I gave up on EA, though.
@13xforever What do you think will come of it exactly?
@Fallout2Forever Steam (or Valve, to be specific) is a face that is shown to the end user that buy and use games. So, when shit happens, they're the first thing to feel the consequences. So I hope that they'll learn to make sure, that the publishers use their system in a proper way, filling right info about the games for every desired region, so there won't be such a misleading typos on every corner of the store.

I mean, Borderlands had the same issues only few days ago, and they didn't even checked and rechecked release info at least for an AAA title such as Dragon Age with the publisher, so that won't happen again :(
@13xforever Um, but the game actually is out.
@Fallout2Forever only for North America and Canada (but even in NA some people cannot unlock their game :D)
Well, I'm sure EA was pissed that Valve put up Dragon Age at a discounted price accidentally. Those who bought it at the cheaper price didn't have to pay the difference when Valve corrected the price. So both companies need a lot of figuring out to do.
@Avs: Actually, it's publisher that is responsible for all things about game, including the price. Valve is only providing them with tools to integrate with Steam.
Hmm, I thought Valve's tool erroneously set the price. Maybe it was the publisher's mistake after all.
@13xforever Wow, this is really messed up!
I hate steam for many reasons : Existing is only one of them.
@Linked713, just to be perfectly clear, I adore Steam for what it has done (and still doing now) for digital distribution of games.

It's the situation of dumb 3rd party publishers that won't learn how to use it, that annoys me to death. And VALVe's inability to change this tendency so far.
@13xforever I uderstand that this issue was NOT steam's fault. But it was a nice opportunity for me to bash on it since I hate it so much and depreciate the fact that I cannot legaly run my freaking HL games and counter-strike without it. XFire does what Steam can do (besides being a game launcher, which most doesn't need, at all) but with more lightweight functionalities... Their prices are also incredibly high compared to most of it's competitors.

Before you say "If you don't like steam don't use it" I just cannot play CS:S without it. O.o
...and that's why I never preorder a game in any way.
Actually, it's just because I can get it cheaper if I buy it post release.
@ZedoMann I rarely preorder games myself either, unless it's in my favroite games series, like Silent Hill, or Zelda.

I also might preorder if they are good preorder bonuses
@EarthboundX How can you like Silent hill?! I never got past the television room at the start of the game on PS3... Ugh.
@Linked713 Not sure what you mean? You mean Homecoming right? There's about 5 other games before that one, haha.

I liked Homecoming, not the best SH, but it was fun.
Yes Homecoming... I cannot believe this game is legal lol. I was a resident evil fan (until RE4....) and it was scary enough for me.. Silent Hill is my own death sentence. Force me to beat it and I'd dig my own tomb.
You'd hate the first one to death then, it's probably still the scariest Silent Hill.
@EarthboundX The music alone from the series makes the game worth playing in my opinion.
@EarthboundX Ugh... lol

By the way is there any real story ? I mean if it's like the movie... >.>
@Linked713 The first one really has nothing to do with the movie. it came out in 1999. The movie took the basic story of the game, and adding tons of unnecessary crap.

Though I liked the movie. I hope they make the second movie better.
